For the past two weeks, we have had issues with a number of things. As you obviously have seen, our production in the month of April is lower then that of February and March. We had a good start to the year, but we have had issues with a number of different things.
Two weeks ago, I had a lot of stuff planned for us to do. We were going to work on more Minecraft, Terraria, and other stuff as well for you guys. It was going to be a pretty productive week and the such. However, I also got a really nasty sickness and could not record for several days. So, all of the work we could do in the week was pushed back until the next week.
Last week, everything just fell over and died all at once. My ISP started to have issues on their end and on my end. It took until yesterday, as of writing this, to get it all fixed.
Now? We are back in business. We got some more stuff recorded in SWTOR, some Terraria stuff that will go up in a few days (Thursday), Minecraft (Friday), Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Oblivion. The entire week is pretty much set!
First of all, I would like to apologize to our regular visitors and viewers and not having many videos the past couple of days. I have had little to no time to actually edit videos, render videos, and even work on videos. You can thank both laziness (not a whole lot) and working on school work (the bulk of my time spent the past couple of days). I should have some time Thursday (19/4/12) and Friday (20/4/12) to finally work on stuff; I miss it. :(
Anyways, an update on Fallout 3: I am still working on it. However, after it is done, I may not come back to it until much later. I enjoy working on the series, but I do not like how I did it. Through this, I have learned that I still have a lot to learn about both Let's Playing and making topics. Sooner or later, I will come back to Fallout 3's DLC. But, I will not do it immediately after.
Oh, and I have a good idea of what I want to do after Fallout 3. Depends on how these mods go.
Switching Back Websites, Minecraft, and Other News
Sup?
Originally, I was planning on moving the current website to Wordpress, a content management system. However, after some thought and work, I decided that Wordpress isn't a great idea. Sure, it is cool and all, but this website engine, PHP-Fusion, is a lot more community driven. In the future, as the group grows, expect a lot more features to be available on this website (including forums)!
Minecraft is going slowly, to be perfectly honest. We have been meaning to come together to work on more SkyBlock episodes, but we haven't had much time to actually work on it. School, time differences, and real life issues have kept us from actually working on the series. Once we get the time, which we should with the upcoming Spring Break, expect more episodes!
Also, as a side note, Minecraft will not be finished after SkyBlock! In fact, we have been working on a collection of maps to possibly work on from the community and from our own recommendations. As soon as SkyBlock nears completion, don't be surprised to see us working on more content! We see that you guys are still interested in our Minecraft videos, and we will not ignore it. :D
In the last piece of news I can report on is the fact that the group has finally hit it's stride after going the past four or so without having it! Viewership is starting to increase, and we are glad to see that some more people are watching non-Minecraft videos (such as my League of Legends commentary). Expect more of that in the future, and our own playthroughs of more games!
PHP Fusion, the current engine that we use here, isn't that great. And, because of that, we are going to move away from PHP Fusion to another content management system, Wordpress. This conversion will take several days, as we need to ensure that the skins work for Wordpress, redirected links work, and so on.
We will also be looking to install a system where you can easily send us links to mods of games, such as Fallout 3 or Minecraft, or maps that we should check out.
Areas such as the FAQ and playlists will be removed.
Earlier last week, I got all of the parts together to finally build what I dub the "Super Computer." The hardware I was going to put in it wasn't state-of-the-art parts, but they were still really good. It got an AMD FX-8120 8-core 3.1 Ghz processor (with the option of being boosted to 4 Ghz), 8 GB of RAM, and an overclocked Radeon HD 6850. With all of that together, I knew I could play any game I wished and (possibly) even at the highest settings.
When I did tests of the computer, to see how far I could push it, I was impressed. I used GTA IV (near-ultra graphics), Fallout 3 (ultra graphics), and Borderlands (ultra graphics) as a benchmark, and I knew how far I could push my computer. It was insane how far I could actually push my computer, since I had to use a Dual-Core 3.0 Ghz computer with a Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT for all of my games... Which was terrible, mind you.
When I was playing through Fallout 3, I was remembering how much I loved the game. It is still one of the greatest RPGs ever constructed. It had a post-nuclear world, a great lore, was an FPSRPG, and it had the open world of the Elder Scrolls games. I was in love with it.
Then, I decided to put it into my "hat" of games to Let's Play next. I couldn't do Paper Mario (and, trust me, I DO want to continue it), because gadzooks28 has borrowed the capture card I use and I don't have all the time in the world to edit videos because of school. Fallout 3 was against The Legend of Dragoon, Knights of the Old Republic, and Mass Effect.
It was going to be Mass Effect, then I changed it to KOTOR, then I changed it to Fallout 3. The biggest reason I didn't want to do Mass Effect or KOTOR yet was because I didn't have the huge want to play those games. Sure, I love them (especially since BioWare is my all-time favorite company; I have loved them since Neverwinter Nights), but I didn't know how far I wished to go. I had played Mass Effect twice, KOTOR a good bit when I was younger (though, I hardly remember a thing about it now), but I didn't know if I could finish it.
Fallout 3 I only beat once, and I rushed it. So, I decided that I should give it a chance and LP it. The game is amazing so far and will only get better as the game continues on.
Oh, and the graphics settings will be fixed in Episode 4. Fixed my computer's settings, now I can capture it at ultra! >:D
